bought my 2001 in December 2010. Drove it home (850 miles) and had a blast doing so. City driving, not so much fun. One can rarely let her rip. By far the best all around car I have owned. Does it all in style.

I HAVE ONE AND I LOVE ITS POWER CANT BELIVED ITS A 5OOO LB CAR FEELS LIKE 2000LB A SURE ADRENALINE RUSH!
IF I DRIVE IT HARD WILL EAT A TANK OF GAS PER DAY AND HALF OF LITER 10W60 RACING OIL THATS LIKE $60 BUCKS 8 MPG BUT ITS WORTH EVRYPENNY

The 2000 E39 M5 is a wonderful car. Mine is silverstone metallic. The only complaint I have is the with my non- xeon headlights. They get dirty inside and need to be replaced, which is very expensive. Wonderful machine though, far superior to E55AMG.

Thank you very much for the info.Can you please help me with a couple of common problems for jerking and under performance.I have already replaced both my air/mass sensors.
